SSPP to decide whether attending the peace talk at its central committee meeting

Spokesperson of the Shan State Progressive Party/ Shan State Army (SSPP/SSA) Colonel Sai Hsu told that the SSPP will hold the central committee meeting to decide whether to attend the peace talk invited by the Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.
SSA’s Colonel Sai Hsu told the abovementioned statement to the NP News while attending Khun Tun Oo’s funeral, a deceased Shan leader, at Yayway Cemetery on May 2.
Invitation by the Chairman of the State Administration Council to meet with the leaders of the Ethnic Armed Organizations is good, and it will be better if the invitation is implemented nationwide, Colonel Sai Hsu remarked.
“Whether we are going to attend the peace talk or not will be discussed at the meeting of the party’s central committee and standing committee with our leaders. The meeting will be convened maybe on May 5,” he said.
The SSPP is a member of the Federal Political Negotiation and Consultative Committee (FPNCC) said Colonel Sai Hsu and he remarked that if the situation is favouring attending the peace talk, the FPNCC members may be attending it all together.
FPNCC members are:
1. United Wa State Party/Wa State Army (UWSP / UWSA);
2. Shan State Progressive Party/ Shan State Army (SSPP / SSA);
3. National Democratic Alliance Army (NDAA);
4. Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA);
5. Kachin Independence Organization/ Kachin Independence Army (KIO / KIA);
6. Arakan Army (AA) and
7. Ta'ang National Liberation Army (TNLA).
The SAC has already got contacted by 17 EAOs of both NCA signatory and non-signatory for the peace talk and they have the potentiality to attend the event, according to Major General Zaw Min Tun as he told during the 13th press conference held in Naypyidaw on April 27.
