KNU Brigade 6 Chairman attends SAC’s Kayin State peace support committee meeting

Pado Saw Shwe Maung, Chairman of the KNU Brigade 6 in Dupalaya District attended the working meeting of Kayin State peace support committee of the State Administration Council as a special guest.

The meeting was held on June 23 at Kayin State Government Office.

Karen National Union publicly denounced the peace talk invited by the SAC’s Chair.

“Ceasefire is the first step to attain the peace. Mutual understanding, trust, and mutual respect are crucial elements in discussion,” Kayin State Chief Minister Saw Myint Oo, the chair of Kayin State peace support committee said.

Peaceful living with no fear is important for the local ethnics, added Chief Minister telling that lack of peace is detrimental to regional development; therefore, regional peace and lessening armed conflict are important.

Pado Saw Shwe Maung and the authorities discussed challenges and disparities that are experienced in formulating the regional peace.

KNU Brigade 6 Chairman Pado Saw Shwe Maung also attended the previous 75th Union Day ceremony in February 2022.

The Chief Minister of Kayin State welcomes to meet anytime regarding to discuss peace, and aid and assistance for development.
