Beth/Kyat, Yuan/Kyat direct payments to start next month in Myeik, Kawthaung, Chinshwehaw

Border trade payments in Myeik, Kawthaung, and Chinshwehaw will be started in direct transfer methods between Beth-Kyat and Yuan-Kyat in July, according to data released by State Administration Council.

Beth/Kyat direct payment has already been formulated in Myawaddy and Tachileik since early 2022.

Currencies' direct transfer between Beth/Kyat will be extended to practice in Myeik and Kawthaung. Direct transfer between Yuan/Kyat will be formulated in Chinshwehaw. Plans are projected to be started in the first week and second week of July.

Authorities are formulating to transfer directly from Beth to Kyat, especially in the remittances transferred by the Myanmar national workers in Thailand.

In Yuan/Kyat direct transfer payment, a total of 197.464 m Yuan was received from export trading while 77.699 m Yuan was used for imports between January and June having a 119.765 m Yuan trade surplus.

In Beth/Kyat direct transfer payment, a total of 1540.46 m Beth was received from export trading while 1137.95 m Beth was used for imports between March and June having a 402.51 m Beth trade surplus.
