At least nine injured in Yangon's deadly bombings on Buddhists’ Waso day

Yangon is subjected to terror plots by the terrorists especially on the country’s cultural festivals significant days that are associated with Buddhism in these years.
Bombs were blasted in many townships of Yangon today (July 12) on the auspicious day of Buddhists’ Dhamma Satkyar Day – Full Moon Day of Waso.
A bomb went off near Myaynigone junction located in Sangyoung Township at an estimated 3:30 pm injuring three men and five women. A 19-year-old female named ‘Aye Pyae Pyae Zaw’ from the outskirt of Yangon was hit in the chest by flying debris and bomb fragments, then, she died.
Another bomb that had not yet exploded was found near the abovementioned crime scene located on Pyay Road. Authorities reportedly defused it.
“The bomb exploded between Myaynigone Bridge and the park (near the Myanigone junction). Two women and one man were injured in the incident. There was so much bleeding. Today, Myaynigone area and Shwedagon Pagoda’s surroundings were crowded with many people since the morning. There shouldn’t be bombing on such day of Waso Full Moon Day,” a resident who lives near the crime scene said.
At an estimated 2 pm today, another bombing occurred in Yangon’s Hlaingtharyar Township injuring two. After the incident took place, Tatmadaw’s counter-terrorism forces blocked the road and investigated the scene, according to a resident in Hlaingtharyar Township.
Again, a bomb was discovered in Tarmwe Township at a place between Banyardala Street and Aungmingalar Street in the afternoon. The counter-terrorism forces and authorities investigated the scene and deactivated the bomb.
Last night, on July 11- pre-Full Moon Day of Waso, seven places in Yangon including Mayangone, North Okkalapa, South Okkalapa, Insein, North Dagon, South Dagon, and East Dagon were attacked under bombings.
The bombs were exploded by anti-government groups as many of the anti-government social influencers posted the attacks were made by their followers as part of the revolution.
In the last Water Festival, terrorists mainly targeted Yangon to commit terror acts. At least 20 terrorists of young ages of both sexes were seized by authorities on days just before the Water Festival. The festival was held under tight security.
