Govt prepares for second round peace talks with peace attended EAOs

State Administration Council is drawing up arrangements to hold the second-round peace talks with the EAOs that have attended the peace talk invited by Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Major General Zaw Min Tun said during the press conference held in Naypyidaw yesterday (July 26).

Commander-in-Chief of the Defense Services, as well as the Chair of the SAC Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, called for peace dialogues with the ethnic armed forces on April 22, 2022 intending to terminate armed conflicts and getting peace.

RCSS/SSA, NMSP, KNU/KNLA-PC, UWSA, NDAA, ALP, PNLO, LDU and DKBA attended the peace talks.

“A total of nine EAOs in which seven NCA signatory groups and three non-signatory groups were included, have met with Senior General Min Aung Hlaing. We are now drawing up arrangements to convene the second-round peace dialogue with them,” Maj. Gen. Zaw Min Tun said.

In addition, other ethnic armed groups that did not attend in the previous peace talk are reportedly preparing to meet with the Army Chief, he continued.

Maj. Gen. Zaw Min Tun said, “Some EAOs are preparing to meet with us. They are holding their committee meetings on this issue.”
KNU, KIA, CNF, and ABSDF replied not attending the peace talk.
