Army Chief and RCSS Yawd Serk meet in Naypyidaw for second-time peace talk

Chairman of the Restoration Council of Shan State/Shan State Army (RCSS/SSA) General Yawd Serk and Commander-in-Chief of the Defense Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing meet and discuss for peace the second time in Naypyidaw today.

Peace delegation team led by RCSS chairman General Yawd Serk arrived in Naypyidaw on August 28.

The first round of peace talk with the RCSS was conducted from May 20 to 22 in Naypyidaw.

State Administration Council (SAC) and the RCSS have agreed to build a stronger multi-parties democracy system, building the Union based on democracy and federalism, and achieving peace and development, according to the SAC announcement.

General Yawd Serk disclosed that the RCSS joined the peace talk resolving the political crisis through political means, and building a federal democratic union in which the right to self-determination is guaranteed.

A few days ago, State Administration Council met with delegations of the Pa-O National Liberation Organization (PNLO), Arakan Liberation Party (ALP), and Lahu Democratic Union (LDU) and achieved agreements between them.
