According to the data released by the State Administration Council, authorities removed more than 3,000 squatting houses in Thanlyin that are located on 100 acre-wide farmlands.
Authorities removed the slum area located in Tarwa ward reportedly on September 9 and 11, according to the data released.
The removed squatting houses are sprawling over nearly a hundred acres wide farmland that has no legal right for housing and settlements.
Former government issued smart cards to the squatters to resolve their unauthorized living for a temporary period.
The abovementioned areas will be used for agriculture and farming, authorities said.
