Mortality high in clashes between Govt forces and joint armed group of KIA, PDF

Information Team of the State Administration Council stated that there are high mortality rates including civilians, Tatmadawmen, and non-state armed forces in the armed conflicts that happened in Sagaing Region between government security forces and joint armed forces of the Kachin Independent Army (KIA) and PDF.

The government received information that armed troops of KIA and PDF taking a foothold in a monastery located in Latyatgone village of Tabayin township, Sagaing Region. Therefore, government security forces were sent to the reported area and investigated on September 16.

During the investigation, the two sides exchanged fire; villagers reportedly died and were injured in the clash, the SAC statement said. Therefore, the government security forces provided necessary medical treatment to injured civilians.

16 grenades, seven rockets, eight hand-made drop bombs, and one walkie-talkie were seized by Tatmadaw troops, the statement said.

Another battle reportedly occurred between government security forces and 30 forces of PDFs near Oakpho-i village located in Taze township, Sagaing Region; in which, seven PDFs were arrested death and weapons and ammunitions were also seized.
