Rakhine leader calls for egress by political means amidst escalating armed conflicts

Chairman of the Arakan Front Party Dr. Aye Maung remarked that political means should be prioritized as an egress in such time of tensed armed conflicts within the country.

Currently in Myanmar, armed clashes have been escalating in Kayin, Kachin, Sagaing, Magwe, lately Rakhine, and some parts of Shan State.

Dr. Aye Maung urged the government to try to find out approaches in non-armed course while handling the current disputes.

“When the armed and military approaches cannot bring out any advancement in finding solution for the disputes, we should try to have the political dialogue as an alternative mean to settle these conflicts,” Dr. Aye Maung said.

Civilians’ lives and livings are the costs in using armed-resistance courses in Myanmar at the time.

Currently, the State Administration Council invited leaders of the EAOs and they are currently discussing peace as second-round talks for terminating fire exchanging.

Political analysts pointed that the role of the political parties in resolving the current crisis plays limitedly.

Regarding with it, Dr. Aye Maung said, “The politicians are inclined to find approaches that won’t harm the public with low casualties,” continuing that there should be a move that attracts the ethnic armed forces to reach their goals through the political mean.

As a matter of fact, more than 6,000 Myanmar citizens have died within 19 months conflicts between state troops and numbers of different non-state armed forces since February 1, 2021.
