The chairman of the Union Solidarity and Development Party Than Htay handed over the party’s duties to vice-chairman Khin Yee due to his health condition.

The nomination was announced on September 12 during the central executive member meeting of the USDP.

Nominating Khin Yee as the acting chairman is carried out following the party’s structural constitution, said Myint Hlaing, chairman of the USDP (Naypyidaw Union Territory).

“Our chairman needs to rest for six months as he went under spinal surgery. Therefore, duties of the USDP have been transferred to vice-chairman 2 for a temporary. So, the vice-chairman 2 will be an acting chairman at present,” a USDP member posted on his social network page.

Electing new chairman for the Union Solidarity and Development Party will be held in upcoming October at the party conference.
