Ministry of Commerce released an announcement that the oil tanker loaded with more than 8.5 million gallons of 92 Ron and premium diesel arrived at Thilawa Port on September 28.

Supervisory Committee on Import, Storage and Distribution of Fuel Oil is regularly conducting scrutinizing and import of gasoline domestically.

MT Synergy oil tanker which carried 2.45m gallons of 92 Ron gasoline and 6.14m gallons of premium diesel docked on September 28 and unloaded fuel at the terminal of Thilawa Port located in Yangon Region.

Currently, the State has enough fuel for domestic use; therefore, it isn’t required to be concerned over the fuel shortage, according to the Ministry of Commerce.

The ministry also notified that there isn’t a problem in regular procedures for fuel import. However, the tank trucks experienced unexpected attacks or were intentionally banned by non-state armed groups.

Another six million gallons of gasoline had already arrived at Thilawa Port on September 25.

Fuel prices have been steadily declining during this week despite of a slight increase in the MOPS, a Singapore-based oil product price assessment body.

According to the reference gasoline price set by the Supervisory Committee on Import, Storage and Distribution of Fuel Oil on September 29, it was 2090 kyat per liter of 92 Ron; 2165 kyat per liter of 95 Ron; 2525 kyat per liter of diesel; and 2610 kyat per premium diesel.

On September 27, four tank trucks that were heading to Kalaywa township located in Sagaing Region were attacked by terrorists. Due to the attack, fuel refilling processes were temporarily suspended at the stations in those areas.
