Not yet exploded bomb in downtown Yangon cleaned by authorities

A bomb was found near the outpost of traffic police in downtown Yangon this afternoon and the authorities cleaned it, according to source who was at the scene told NP News.

The incident happened on October 4. A suspicious pack was found near the traffic police outpost located at the junction between Mahabandoola Road and Pansoden Road in Kyauktada township, Yangon.

Counter-terrorism forces investigated and inspected the suspicious bag and found that it was a bomb; and therefore the authorities blocked streets and roads surrounding the scene to explode it as the bomb couldn’t be defused.

“When we found the suspicious bomb, we have to deactivate it not to harm the public. Sometimes we couldn’t deactivate and defuse them. Then, we have to explode it after we block the streets and roads to make sure not to entering into it,” a source told NP News.

At the end of May, a deadly explosion occurred at Barlan bus stop, much crowded area in Yangon downtown in which one was killed and nine other were injured.
