The Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS) released a press statement today (October 10) that invites other ethnic armed forces, especially from Shan State, for peace providing a four-month period from October 10, 2022 to February 10, 2023.

The RCSS is the EAO that attended the first time peace talk invited by the Chairman of the State Administration Council Senior General Min Aung Hlaing in April 2022. The RCSS met with the SAC peace delegation on May 20-22 as the first round; then on August 20-22 as the second round in Naypyidaw.

The RCSS frequently disclosed that it believes in dialogue to resolve the current political and military tensions.

“There are countless of the displaced persons who fled the conflicts; the economy is downsizing; lack of agricultural market; and difficulties in traveling and transportation make the public handling in the hardship,” said in the statement.

The invitation is made to establish alliances and partners with other groups; to build solidarity and unity; and federal union through the dialogue approach, the RCSS said.

On the other hand, fire exchange frequently occurred between the RCSS and the Shan State Progressive Party (SSPP/SSA) in the territories located in Shan State.
