MIC grants 13 new investments in electricity sector

Myanmar Investment Commission has approved 13 new investments to run businesses including renewable energy electrification within the country.

The approval was made at the 4/2022 meeting of the MIC that was held on 21st October.

New investments involve in the electricity sector, agriculture, hotel and tourism, service, construction, and property sectors.

Most investments in Myanmar are from Singapore, China and Thailand, and 52 other countries as of September 2022.

Investment in the electricity sector shares 28.21 percent of total investments; 24.67 percent is shared by the oil and gas sector, and 14.32 percent is shared by the production sector.
