Myanmar’s Min Aung Hlaing urges Dawei deep-sea SEZ to be a successful project

The Chairman of the State Administration Council Senior General #Min_Aung_Hlaing demands to implement of the #Dawei_Special_Economic_Zone and #Deep-Sea_Port_Project successfully.

He disclosed this message during his visit to the project site in Dawei, Tanintharyi Region on 4th November.

The Dawei SEZ and deep-sea port projects are projected to be implemented in the Nabule area 17 miles away from the northwest of Dawei.

“Commodities can be transported from the port of Vietnam to Dawei deep-sea port via East Asian countries and then to South Asia and the Gulf as well as the commodities from western countries to Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam and then East Asia via the Dawei deep-sea port,” Senior General was quoted by the Information Ministry.

He urged to maintain buildings in the project and not be damaged and to make sure their long-term existence.

Experts from Thailand conducted an initial study to implement the Dawei SEZ project in 2005. Then in 2008 June, the Myanmar government of the State Peace and Development Council (SPDC) and Thailand’s Italian-Thai Development Company signed a memorandum of understanding on the project.

Currently, the SAC is processing to carry out compensation matters for the land use for the project, Tanintharyi Region Government told NP News.
