SAC plans building more rail channels to Dawei

There are already 3,800 miles of railways across #Myanmar. The State Administration Council (SAC), plus, is scheming to construct more national railways to the country’s south city #Dawei for better #travelling_and_transportation channels.

The SAC Chairman Senior General #Min_Aung_Hlaing informed this information to the investors during his visit to the project site in Dawei, Tanintharyi Region on 4th November.

As a matter of fact, Dawei is a kind of gate that foreign travelers enter the country passing through it. Senior General underlined it and therefore, urged the locals and administrators to keep the environment clean.

The railway industry in Myanmar started in 1,877. There were 1,924 miles of railway with 476 stations till 1947 before independence, according to the reports.

Then, a total of 54 miles of railway and 11 stations were expanded from 1948 to 1988.

According to the statistics from Myanma Railway, 1,822 miles of railway and 473 stations had been expanded after 1988; therefore, there are currently 3,800 miles of railway and 960 stations in total.
