Authorities found out that there are more than 500,000 who hold more than one national identification card when scrutinizing the issued NRCs.
Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defense Services #Vice-Senior_General_Soe_Win addressed this message during the meeting on ‘#Voter_List Preparation for #Election’ that was held in #Naypyidaw yesterday (November 10).
Immigration authorities conducted the ‘Naing-4’ process which is scrutinizing and issuing the registration book of the national identity card so as to verify the accuracy of the voter lists. The ‘Naing-4’ process is the first step of preparing and verifying the voter lists.
“The Naing-4 process had been conducted, as the first stage, to get accurate statistics.
When we carried out the Naing-4 process, more than 500,000 people were scanned and found out using and holding more than one NRC. Such mistakes may cost a lot for the State,” Vice-Senior General Soe Win said.
At present, the #State_Administration_Council, the #Union_Election_Commission, and the Immigration Department are conducting verification of ground population for attaining the accurate voter lists for the upcoming #2023_Election as there were massive voter list fraud and manipulations occurred in the previous #2020_Election.
