AA fires rocket at Tatmadaw chopper resulting in collateral damages

A total of ten civilians were killed and 24 others were wounded in the rocket attacks launched by the #Arakan_Army (AA) on Myanmar military in Rakhine State on 16 November in the villages of Kyauktaw and #Maungdaw, according to the State Administration Council announcement.

When the #Tatmadaw servicemen were conducting administration tasks near Kansout village in Kyauktaw township and Kyainchaung village in Maungdaw township, the AA troops launched firing. Crossfire occurred. The AA fired 81 MM rocket targeting Kansout village and Kyainchaung village, the SAC Information Team said.

“The AA fired the Tatmadaw choppers and fire exchanging occurred. When the AA withdrew, they launched rockets into the villages where Mro ethnics are mostly residing. Ten died and 24 others wounded in the #collateral_damages attacked by the AA,” the Information Team said.

The wounded persons had been sent to the Maungdaw Public Hospital.

Authorities evacuated approximately 500 villagers from Laungdon village to a safe place.

On the other hand, the AA has not yet released any claim or response on the incident.
