Shan EAO ‘RCSS’ urges ASEAN not to highlight 2020 political crisis

A Shan ethnic armed force ‘RCSS: Restoration Council of Shan State’ released a welcome statement on 40th and 41st #ASEAN reviews and decisions today (14 November).
The statement addresses four points to consider for the ease of current political tension of #Myanmar.
The RCSS underlines that the 2020/2021 political crisis isn’t the main cause of the country’s political dilemma; instead, priority to execute the provisions of the 1947 #Panglong_Agreement lays the primary root.
The ASEAN should discuss and make compromise with all stakeholders from the political spectrum including the EAOs, the State Administration Council, political parties, think-tanks and religious leaders so that the tensions and crisis would be relaxed, the statement expresses.
The RCSS also highlights international witnesses and organizations that were involved as the witnesses when signing the #Nationwide_Ceasefire_Agreement should encourage in the reconciliation processes of building Myanmar’s federal democratic union.
