Battery vehicles imports to start on 1st January

The Ministry of Commerce of #Myanmar announced that the investors who will import #electric_vehicles will be allowed their processes commencing on 1st January 2023.

Related rules and regulations have been released too.

The ministry published these announcements in the directive that was released in recent days.

It involves rules and regulations to support the pilot project for the development of electric vehicles and related businesses.

The importers must be the companies of either Myanmar nationals or foreign investors that are officially registered at the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (#DICA).

The company
shall submit a business contract with the partner brand to the DICA and must be granted a permit from the steering committee for the development of the electric vehicle sector. The companies will have to import the numbers of cars only approved by the committee, the statement said.

The directives issued in the statement also include for the passenger truck of using battery, the ministry said.

The issued directive shall influence between 1st January from 31st December 2023.
