Russia’s Rosatom shows desire to invest in Myanmar hydropower sector

Hydropower and Wind Power Corporation of Russia’s #Rosatom (#Росатом) expressed desires to invest in #Myanmar where water resource is abundant, according to the statement released by the State Administration Council (SAC).

Myanmar delegation led by the Union Minister for Electric Power Thaung Han and Myanmar Ambassador to Russian Federation Lwin Oo visited Barsuchkovskaya Small Hydropower Plant and Kochubeevskaya WPP Wind Power Plant located in Stavropol Region, Russia on November 19.

During the visit to Barsuchkovskaya Small Hydropower Plant, the company officials explained construction and operations of the plant. The delegation studied constructions and structures of 11 power plants that are being built in a cascade along the Stavropol Canal.

The Myanmar delegation continued to Kochubeevskaya WPP Wind Power Plant which also exists in Stavropol Region and studied turbine settings for electricity generation from the wind power through the national grids.
