The #Union_Election_Commission (UEC) chairman Thein Soe addressed that Myanmar’s current population size is approximately over 61 million as per the ground verification processes at present.
The UEC chair Thein Soe underlined the information during the meeting for complete and correct #voter_lists that was held in Naypyidaw on 22 November, according to the statement released by the State Administration Council.
However, the population figure was reportedly 55.8 million as of October 1, 2022 by the Ministry of Immigration and Population. It was based on the 2014 National Census statistics.

In fact, it has been more than 12 million populations that do not have any document or living without national scrutiny cards of both under and above 18 years old. Only 29 million populations hold the national scrutiny cards among these 61 million ground population.
