Convoy of Buddhist monks’ vehicles attacked on Myeik-Dawei Highway killing one

Two vehicles that carried #Buddhist monks and nuns, altogether 15, were attacked by the terrorists on Myeik-Dawei Highway in #Tanintharyi Region which claimed a life of a monk and other wrecks.
The incident happened on 22 November evening on Ye-Myeik-Dawei highway near Palaw township, an official from Tanintharyi Region Government confirmed NP News.
“Yes, one of the venerable monks died in the incident. There were two vehicles involved in the convoy. The monk sitting in the front door was hit in the shot. Monks and nuns involved in the back. The #terrorists messed up the things in the vehicles and took away whatever they wanted,” the officer said.
As a matter of face, the vehicles are owned by the Thabarwa Sayadaw U Ottamasara; and in fact, he used to use those vehicles while he was working the missionary projects in Tanintharyi Region: building meditation centers, dhamma clinics, and salvation tasks.
Sayadaw U Ottamasara’s missionary trips include Yangon, Mawlamyaing, Dawei, Myeik, Bokepyin, Kawthaung, Ranong, and Malaysia, according to a volunteer from Tha Bar Wa (Nature) Dhamma Center.
Sayadaw has arrived in Myawaddy from his South Asian missionary trip. At the time, the abovementioned 15 monks and nuns, who were attacked in the terror incidents, were heading to Myawaddy to meet with the Sayadaw from Kawthaung.
In the terror incident, a Buddhist monk died; a nun and two royal laymen were wounded; and both vehicles were damaged, according to a royal layman from Tha Bar Wa (Nature) Dhamma Center. The attack was reportedly happened at the late night.
Sayadaw U Ottamasara has arrived in Tanintharyi on 13 November.
There are almost 70 Buddhist monks who were brutally killed in the terror assaults by the #PDF #terrorists in Myanmar since 2021.
