Authorities plan to issue smart cards for national identity cards

It has been reported that the Ministry of Immigration and Population is planning to issue #smart_cards for #national_scrutiny_cards.
The plan to issue smart cards has been rooted since 2016.
In fact, the current Chairman of the Union Solidarity and Development Party, Khin Yi, schemed to transform the national scrutiny card issuing procedures into the smart card when he was the minister of the Ministry of Immigration and Population.
At present, nationwide ground population inspection processes have been carried out starting from January 9. The process is led by the Immigration Ministry.
The authorities are expected to scheme the designated smart card process together with the currently taking on-ground population statistics.
