ASEAN repeats calling wrong number on Myanmar issue

Reports said that Jakarta plans to invite non-political #Myanmar representative during its #ASEAN chairmanship term; and will discuss Myanmar issue without the respective country’s representative since the State Administration Council won’t accept inequivalent representing at the meetings.
The ASEAN is just dialing the wrong number for the Myanmar issue.
Not inviting an equivalent counterpart from Myanmar at annual ASEAN summits won’t meet the solution.
Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi reportedly said only non-political Myanmar representatives will be invited.
Jakarta will host the ASEAN meetings as the new chair on February 3 and 4.
On the other side of the spectrum, it has been turning two years since Myanmar is ruled under the constituted coup. Myanmar’s National Defence and Security Council meeting will be convened this coming Wednesday.
Myanmar’s constituted government declared to hold a fresh election in mid-2023 under the Proportional Representation electoral system.
With respect to the 5-PC of the ASEAN, Myanmar has already affirmed to implement it, in fact, in line with the fundamental principles of upholding its national interest, sovereignty and non-interference of the internal affairs of the member states, and in line with the 2008 Constitution.
