Myanmar invites India to invest in building pharmaceutical factories

The Union Minister welcomes medical experts from India to cooperate in the medical and #pharmaceutical industry in #Myanmar.

The Union Minister for the Ministry of Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win underlined it during his speech at the meeting held at India Centre in Yangon on January 30.

The Minister informed that India is Myanmar’s reliable trade partner. It has 1.89 billion dollars in trading with India within 2021-2022.

India imports pharmaceutical drugs and medicine to Myanmar. The Myanmar government purchases medicines from India and distributes them to the state-owned hospitals using the State budget, the Minister said.

He invited Indian pharmacists to come to Myanmar and collaborate to advance the related industry. He also recommended Indian medical experts to develop pharmaceutical factories in Myanmar and make investments.
