Myanmar expects to circulate over 1 million domestic travelers in upcoming Thingyan

The Myanmar Tourism Federation expects to have more than one million domestic travelers in the coming Thingyan Festival.

At present, the domestic #tourism sector is back to increasing especially in #Chaungthar and #Ngwesaung beaches.

“Domestic tourism volume is getting high at the moment. It would be more increased after March when exams are finished,” the chairman Naung Naung Han told NP News.

As per information, domestic tourism declined in early 2023, then it’s getting back to increase in February.

“It is expected to be highest in April in Thingyan Festival. It was between 200 to 300 thousand domestic travelers per month in recent months. We expect the figure will reach more than one million travelers for domestic tourism,” he said.

Myanmar's tourism sector was suspended due to Covid 19 and was recommenced in April 2022; in addition, Myanmar has a potential tourism sector starting in 2023. The State Administration Council is also promoting the country’s tourism sector.
