PPP, Mon Unity party, Rakhine State National United party applied party registrations

People’s Pioneer Party (PPP), Mon Unity Party and Rakhine State National United Party submitted applications for renewing the party registrations at the Union Election Commission (UEC) on March 15 as per Section 25 of the #Political_Parties_Registration_Law.

The People's Pioneer Party (PPP) was founded by Dr. Thet Thet Khine, the current Union Minister for Social Welfare Relief and Resettlement in 2020. Most members are businesspersons. It run for the previous 2020 Election with more than 230 candidates across the country apart from Chin State, Rakhine State and Kayah State.

The Mon Unity Party is one of the powerful political parties in Mon State and established on July 11, 2019, as the unification of two Mon parties: All Mon Region Democracy Party and Mon National Party.

The Rakhine State National United party is a party based in Rakhine State and contested in six constituencies in Rakhine State in the 2010 election.

Currently, there are 6 parties that have applied under Section 3 of the Political Parties Registration Law, and 20 parties that have applied under Section 25 of the Political Parties Registration Law; altogether 26 parties in total, as the UEC has announced.

Amongst, six parties will organize nationwide and 20 of them will organize within a region or state. And the Union Election Commission is continuing to verify the establishment and registration of those parties.
