CDM-Support Celebrity Couple Either Won Awards at Myanmar Academy Award Event

The renowned celebrity couple: the film actor Pyay Ti Oo and his wife film actress Eaindra Kyaw Zin, both of them won the ‘Actor Award’ and the ‘Actress Award’ at the event of Myanmar Academy Award Event 2023 that was held yesterday in Naypyidaw.
The event was convened to offer awards for the motion pictures for three years - 2019, 2020 and 2022.
At the awarding ceremony for three years, the film actor awards were won by Pyay Ti Oo, Sai Sai Kham Leng and Myint Myat while the film actress awards were won by Eaindra Kyaw Zin, Soe Pyae Thazin and Shwe Hmone Yati.
Amongst, Pyay Ti Oo and Eaindra Kyaw Zin actively participated in the 2021 Spring Revolution protests. The couple joined ‘Three Finger Salute’ either in the ground demonstrations or through social media. Both led the campaign of Civil Disobedience Movement persuading the civil staff to join it.
The authorities issued an arrest warrant for the celebrity couple in February 2021. A month later, the couple surrendered to the authorities in April 2021 and was released in March 2022.
Now, they attended the State-sponsored Academy Award Event in Naypyidaw and received the titles and awards.
On the other hand, fans of Pyay Ti Oo and Eaindra Kyaw Zin who believed the couple’s participation in the anti-coup movement and who followed what they talked on the protest stage in early 2021 demonstration period, at the time being, fall in the social trap and socio-economic dilemma since they gave up their career and job security.
What is more, the young fans of the couple: some died in the armed-resistance course during battles while some of them sacrificed their lives after joining the armed-rebellion.
