Communications have been disconnected in Sittwe, Rakhine State since morning and authorities are planning to use Mobile Communications Vehicles (MCVs) for reinstalling the communications in the damaged when the wind is calm.

Personnel from the Department of Transport and Telecommunications from Rakhine State told the NP News.

"Not all communication channels are disconnected. Some areas still get the telecom services. Some places where telecom towers have fallen down are offline. We plan to send a mobile communications vehicles to there. When the wind is calm, the line will be restored when we use the satellite," the source told NP News.

As per information, the Union Government have already sent the MCVs to Sittwe and Kyaukphyu since before the Cyclone Mocha reached the Rakhine Coastal region.
