As per reports, after recently assassinated the nationalist female singer Lily Naing Kyaw last week, the NUG (National Unity Government) adds more names of the local celebrities in the list to kill. The conspiracies will be implemented by the PDF terrorists.
The PDF terrorist group is the armed wing of the exile NUG which is sponsored and backed by the American government.
The singer Lily Naing Kyaw was shot by a PDF gunman on May 30 in Yankin Township, near her house, in her car. The PDF terrorist shot her in a close range in the head.
Later then, one of the NUG supporters organized telegram channel named ‘Shadowless’ published and distributed the new hit list in which the names of the singers, actors, actresses and film artists were involved to be murdered.
In addition, the ‘Shadowless’ telegram channel demanded to receive the detailed information of those targeted persons such as address, rich properties, businesses, related information and close persons to them. The ‘Shadowless’ urges the public to inform those information to the NUG.
The list involves renowned comedians, singers, actors and actresses like comedian Dain Daung, hip-hopper Yone Lay and academy award winner Yan Aung. There are seven names involved in the list.
What is more, there are comments that support the assassinations and spread hate speeches under the hit-list post published by the ‘Shadowless’. Some comments even demanded other celebrities such Lu Min and Pyay T Oo who participated in the Spring Revolution in earlier and arrested but were released later after signing a confession statement at the State Administration Council.
The ‘Shadowless’ telegram channel was established by those very close to the NUG. It was organized to share information about those who they called ‘alleged informers’ and ‘traitors’ who are the barriers and disturbances for the so-called Spring Revolution so that the NUG can take actions and assassinations against those targets.
The comedian Dain Daung said, “What did I do to them for being involved my name in the list. Who was prisoned because of me? Which family was broken because of me? I just do the charity works, helping others and donating those poor people. Then, why do they want to kill me? They accuse me of supporting the military council. Then, I want to ask why do they choose me among others from those who attended the Academy Award Ceremony, Independence Ceremony and other events?”
He continued that he is afraid and has fear to be involved in that list as he has a daughter, siblings and parents.
In the meanwhile, the veiled menace on social media has been spreading. It conveys the message of providing the price of 2500 Lakh MMK if one can assassinate the famous singer Yone Lay.
The Chairman of People’s Party, Ko Ko Gyi expressed his clear opposition on any individual or group engaged in the ruthless targeting of unarmed civilians. He firmly denounced such acts as arbitrary killings and extrajudicial executions, emphasizing that they should never be committed under any circumstance.
He continued saying that “Even during the outbreak of war, they have to follow the Rules of Engagement. They must not target the civilian’s places; and it is needed to avoid the casualties of civilians as much as possible. This is code of conducts. We condemned on whoever making targets on civilians and committing extrajudicial killings. It is something to be avoided or must not be done.”
He also said that imposing threats and swearing to those who have different political outlooks is not compatible to democratic values.
Similarly, Dr. Aye Maung, the Chairman of the Arakan Front Party, asserted his unwavering stance against the insidious threats imposed on innocent civilians by terrorists. He urged those responsible for perpetrating these terrible crimes to immediately desist from their actions and demonstrate a profound sense of humanitarian empathy. Dr. Aye Maung called for an immediate cessation of these acts and he showed his deep concern for the well-being and safety of the affected populace.
Dr Aye Maung said “These assassinations leave huge negative impacts on our civilization, culture and national images. They are unbelievable and they should have never been emerged. I would like to request those who are committing these hideous acts to stop immediately for the sake of our future and our country.”
Moreover, there have been cases throughout the current political conflicts in which many civilians, governmental staff, political parties and media were terrorized, threatened and assassinated.
Dr Aye Maung gave a remark relating to the threats imposed towards the political parties. He said “It is like the political means or approaches were set behind. Armed conflicts outweighed the peaceful dialogues. Of course, there are more confrontations. Everybody thinks they are right. Unfortunately, any attempt to use political approaches become the way opposite to armed forces. With these perspectives, the political entities are being negatively criticized and attacked by armed groups.”
Similarly, the independent local media like NP News earnestly struggling to stop all the terror acts in Myanmar due to political dilemma are also being threatened.
The Chairman of the Arakan Front Party Dr. Aye Maung condemned all the life-threatening threats imposing to media violating the freedom of expression.
Dr. Aye Maung said “There are different news houses which are expressing news from all different point of views. Some media may be in line with the government policies. Some may be in line with the opposition side. So that the public can consume news and information from different sources from different perspectives. Only then, they can understand the whole story and can make the right decisions. Actually, media is the fourth pillar in democracy. It has an instrumental role. We need to understand it. Even in the battlefield, it is common to risk one’s life to get the right information. The role of the media is to fulfill this need and to serve the people. Media should not be the platform for bias and propaganda. Worst of all, they should never be target for life threatening and assassinations. Therefore, we condemn on those who are imposing threats whoever or whatever they are. Media also need to be stick to media ethics and code of conducts.”
Furthermore, the Chairman of the People's Party, Ko Ko Gyi, expressed his concern that certain media outlets and their news coverage are exacerbating the already dire situation of terrorism and armed conflicts during this critical juncture.
Ko Ko Gyi said that “The threats towards the media are the threats towards the civilians. Threatening the media is something that should not be acceptable. Media needs to stick to their ethics and code of conducts. I think that media are also responsible forthe sprawling of terror acts throughout the country.”
According to the statistics from February 2021 to January 2023, the number of civilians being assassinated reaches up to 4737.
The Buddhist monks, governmental staff, civilians, members of political parties and celebrities are among those who were being assassinated by terrorists.
