State Administration Council dismissed East Timor diplomat in Myanmar

The State Administration Council (SAC) ordered the Charge d’ Affaires of the Timor Leste to leave Myanmar before September 1 for intervening Myanmar’s internal affairs; and disregarding the sovereignty and pride.

With regard to the matter, SAC spokesperson Major General Zaw Min Tun said that Timor Leste has been frequently disrespecting Myanmar in ASEAN insulting the sovereignty and pride of the country. It also intervenes in Myanmar’s internal affairs. Based on those ground, Myanmar informed the Charge d’ Affaires of the East Timor to leave before September 1.

Myanmar and Timor Leste have poor exchanging in relationship including trade and culture.

In fact, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Charge d’ Affaires of the East Timor to Naypyidaw on 5th July and objected on meeting the President of Timor Leste with exiled terrorist entity NUG representatives.

Dismissing the Charge d’ Affaires of a country isn’t the highest diplomatic action, a former director from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs remarked explaining that the highest action would be closing the embassy and ending the diplomatic tie.

Myanmar and Timor Leste built the diplomatic relationship in 2006.
