Discussion held to expand Myanmar’s fruit market to China

Aung Naing Oo, Union Minister for the Ministry of Commerce, who arrived in Nanning, China, met with the Chairman of Guanxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Mr. Lan Tianli.

During the meeting, the two countries discussed the possibility of exporting fruits from Myanmar to the fruit market established in Guanxi region of China.

In addition, they discussed issues related to promoting the trade between Myanmar and Guanxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Both sides also discussed cooperation in the traditional medicine sector with Myanmar and the ability to distribute advanced technology in the agricultural sector, according to the SAC.

Similarly, the two sides exchanged views on cooperation in the tourism sector.

The Minister of Commerce is arriving to China to attend the (20th) China-ASEAN Expo and the (20th) China-ASEAN Economic and Investment Summit, which will be held in Nanning from September 16 to 19.

In Myanmar-China border trade, agricultural products including onions, peppers, beans and pulses, rubber and aquatic products are being exported to China, and construction materials, electrical equipment, machinery, food and medicines are being imported from China.
