Over 160 million ks worthy chemical items seized in Tharsi

Over 160 million kyats value of chemical materials that were carried from Yangon to Shan State were seized in Tharsi township, according to Myanmar Police Force.

The incident happened on September 14 at an estimated 7 am on the highway of Tharsi-Taunggyi in Tharsi township, Mandalay region.

On the highway, the anti-drug police forces inspected the 22-wheel truck in DONGFENG type driven by Htun Myint Oo and spared by Wai Phyo, according to the report.

During the investigation, 168 million kyats value of 21 tons PHENOL LOOSE CRYSTALS were found and seized. Those drugs were carried to Shan State unlawfully, the police said.

Currently, the arrested persons are being charged in accordance with law and the offenders in the related cases are being investigated and identified.
