Heroin worth over 3 billion Ks seized in Kalaymyo

The Myanmar Anti-Narcotics Police Force announced the seizure of heroin worth over 3 billion Kyat concealed in plastic containers in Kalaymyo, Sagaing Region.

The heroin was seized near Nat Kyee Kone village in Kalaymyo Township, Sagaing Region on 18th October.

Based on previously obtained information, the vehicle, driven by Ayeyar Tun (aka) Zay Yar Tun, and followed by Thiha Tun, was stopped for investigation. The car was traveling from Mandalay to Kalaymyo.

Following the investigation, a total of 3,300 plastic containers were discovered inside the vehicle, containing 33 kilograms of heroin and 10.2 million stimulant tablets, with a combined value of 3.69 billion Kyat.

As per confession, the drug dealing accomplice Thein Tun Aung (aka) Chan Myae Aung was also arrested at his house in Pyi Gyi Yan Long Ward, Aung Myay Thar Zan Township in Mandalay Region on 19th October.

According to the investigation, it has been reported that the smuggled heroin and drugs are transported from Shan State to Sagaing Region. Actions have been taken against the relevant drug dealers and smugglers, and further necessary investigations are underway.
