Tatmadaw regains Pauktaw in Rakhine State that Arakan insurgents raided

The spokesperson of the State Administration Council (SAC) Major General Zaw Min Tun confirmed that Tatmadaw reclaimed Pauktaw Township in Rakhine State where the Arakan Army raided and attacked in recent days.

He addressed it during his speech to the news media on 16th November explaining about armed conflicts across the country.

On 16th November, fire exchange occurred between Tatmadaw and AA insurgents at Donnyo police outpost located north to the Khamaungseik and east to the Border Post-46 near Myanmar-Bangladesh borderline.

Maj. Gen. Zaw Min Tun said, “Of course, the AA attacked Pauktaw regional police post. Then, they propagated that they seized and controlled the whole Pauktaw City. In fact, Tatmadaw and Myanmar Police Force arrived Pauktaw this afternoon. After arriving Tatmadaw and the Myanmar Police Force, the enemy retreated. Therefore, we regained the city.”

Myanmar Tatmadaw has been conducting military operations by collaboration between Army and Navy against the AA insurgents in Rakhine State. The AA resumed aggressive attacks in the state on 13th November.
