The ceasefire agreement was signed between SSPP/SSA and RCSS/SSA on November 29 and released the statement jointly.
According to the statement released by the civil societies, ceasefire agreement of the two groups is expected to protect Shan ethnics amid this ongoing lolitical conflicts.
In addition, the cease-fire agreement is a good foundation for the establishment of a united and peaceful federal Shan State, according to the statement.
Therefore, the statement also urged those two Shan armed groups to work continuously towards building the cooperation and unity through a ceasefire agreement as the Shan people’s desire.
Three representatives from the SSPP headquarters and four representatives from the RCSS headquarters officially agreed to a ceasefire after holding talks on November 29.
After signing the ceasefire agreement, the statement was released on November 29.
