Hsu/ AYE (NP News) - July 21
It is reported that at least six NGOs and INGOs have been involved in supporting terrorist activities and have been annulled in legal statuses.
This information was revealed during a meeting of the SAC government on 5 July, where SAC Chairman Senior General Min Aung Hlaing issued a warning concerning NGOs and INGOs. He emphasized the importance of these organizations adhering to regulations and scrutinizing social groups that might be violating rules under the guise of community service.
An individual collaborating with NGOs and INGOs, linked to about six groups, was arrested in late June for allegedly supporting terrorist organizations. A government source, speaking on 9 July to The Statesman, claimed the arrested person was involved in various support activities for armed groups, including the AA, and potentially others.
Regarding the Sasakawa group, it was reported that although they did not directly support AA, they indicated a willingness to leave their support materials in Rakhine, which could potentially be picked up by AA. An anonymous source familiar with the Nippon Foundation shared the information. Although Sasakawa visited Myanmar in late June, no official announcements were made about his visit.
