Kachin youth arbitrarily arrested and beaten by MMDAA, suffering impaired vision and hearing

In Namhpakka, a town controlled by the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) in northern Shan State, a Kachin youth returning from gathering firewood was arbitrarily arrested and beaten by the MMDAA, resulting in impaired vision and hearing, according to reports from local Kachin media.
On October 28, at around 4 pm, three members of the MNDAA reportedly captured a local Kachin man returning home after gathering firewood by blocking his eyes and forcibly taking him away.
"After being captured and taken away, it took about three hours to arrive at the MNDAA armed group’s location, where they interrogated and beaten. Subsequently they took him back to the original place of capture around 7 pm,” according to local media reports.
“The victim of the MNDAA’s capture and assault is a 17-year-old named Maung Ing Khwam San Li, who lives in Lwalkone Ward (6) of Namhpakka Town. It is reported that after returning from the Kutkai area where he gathered firewood, he was captured and assaulted as described above,” according to the source.
The victim was unconsciously transported to Namhpakka Township Hospital at around 10 pm and as a result, one of his eyes was damaged in sight, and an ear was also damaged in hearing due to the wounds on the whole body by beaten.
Regarding the incident, there were also posts on social media stating that the tension between KIA and MNDAA was intense as the MNDAA did not take responsibility on the incident.
In recent times, there were incidents very frequently that the MNDAA abducted and beaten the villagers in Namhpakka and Kutkai areas, and some have died during their arrests and interrogations, the local media reported.
After Operation 1027, the three-armed terrorists: KIA, MNDAA, and TNLA stationed in Kutkai Township in northern Shan State, and tensions reportedly increased among the groups. –
