Khit/Thant Zin (NP News) - Nov 26

The residents told The NP News that the civilians’ properties were looted and stolen after the terrorists driving out the people from the town in Chin State.

Since the first week of November, clashes have intensified between the Tatmadaw and the Chin Defence Force (CDF), Chin National Front (CNF), and PDF coalition in Falam Township, forcing all locals to displace.

“PDF drove out all civilians from the town. They said that if people stay here, they will kill them. And there may be about 1000 forces of theirs in the town. They surrounded and blocked. The Tatmadaw is in a stand-by situation on the hill. Some civilians said that there are no people in the town. Most of them moved to Kalay. The riches mostly moved out. Some to Kalay,” a Falam resident said.

“Some police families’ homes were broken in and the valuable things worth 10,000,000 Kyats were stolen. They also broke into some mobile phone shops and took the things by car. One of my friends phoned me to say that all the things in his house, such as televisions, cabinets, etc., had been stolen by PDFs. The door was broken,” he added.

In addition, PDF terrorists recruited child soldiers by force near and around Falam then, they initiated the clashes to raid the town, according to the mentioned resident.

“They have controlled the Falam and there are only PDFs in the town. All residents are willing to enter their town. They stay at the churches in the town. On 11 November, the occurrence of the clash was really intense. A total of 200 PDFs raided the town. Tatmadaw defeated them in two strategies and 13 PDFs died in the clash. In addition, 13 weapons and RPGs were seized. All residents are willing to enter the town,” he continued.

Joint battalions of Chin armed groups and PDF terrorists initiated the clashes in early 2024 in Chin State and thousands of residents were displaced to other towns including the properties were damaged.
