The conditions for contributing to the stability and peace of Myanmar were discussed by the Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and global humanitarian and peace envoy Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.
The Chairman of the SAC and peace envoy Gurudev met on the morning of February 9 at the SAC Chairman's office in Naypyidaw.
During the meeting, they discussed political developments in Myanmar since the country gained independence, the ongoing political conflicts, and the efforts being made by the SAC to contribute to the nation's stability, peace, and development.
Additionally, as a leader of humanitarian and peace envoy, Gurudev discussed his efforts in facilitating peace processes in countries around the world, the conditions for contributing to Myanmar's stability and peace, as well as preparations being made to ensure the holding of free and fair multi-party democratic elections in Myanmar.
Furthermore, the Chairman of the SAC expressed his appreciation and welcomed Gurudev for personally coming to Myanmar as a distinguished individual.
In the afternoon, it was reported that Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, a member of the SAC and Chairman of the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee (NSPNC), welcomed a delegation led by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar at the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Centre in Naypyidaw.
The meeting focused on Myanmar’s peace process, emphasizing key aspects such as building trust within the process, facilitating mutual dialogue between the conflicting parties, and efforts to strengthen mutual trust.
Additionally, the discussion highlighted that, instead of placing blame on one side due to the suffering caused by the conflict, peace can be achieved through collaboration. The importance of providing humanitarian aid and support for the people of Myanmar was also addressed.
