National Democratic Force, People’s Party open offices in towns and cities

On the 78th anniversary of Union Day, two political parties – National Democratic Force (NDF) and People’s Party (PP) held opening and signboard-raising ceremonies for their township party offices.
The People’s Party held its party office opening and signboard-raising ceremony at 10:30 a.m. at No. (2646), Ngawon (11) Road, Shwek­yarpin Ward, Zabuthiri Township, Naypyidaw, in commemoration of the 78th Union Day.
Likewise, the National Democratic Force (NDF) party also opened its party offices and held signboard-raising ceremonies in Chanaye Tharzan and Chanmya Tharsi townships, Mandalay Region.
The Chairman of the State Ad­min­ist­ration Council (SAC) officially announced that the government will hold elections in 2025, despite extending the emergency period by another six months.
It can be assumed that the 2025 election will take place in the near future. Currently, the Union Election Commission has allowed 55 political parties to be registered in accordance with the Political Parties Registration Law (2023).
According to this law, a party intending to organize throughout the Union must open party offices in one-third of all townships within 90 days while a party intending to organize only within one region or state must open party offices in at least five townships within 90 days of being allowed to register.
Therefore, it can be regarded that, parties are preparing to open their party offices in the respective townships in accordance with the provisions of the Political Parties Registration Law. –
