SAC Chair stresses regional stability, financial aids for displaced persons

Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC), stated that support funds will be provided at the rate of 20,000 kyats per person per month for those who have been temporarily displaced due to the conflict situations.
On February 11, 2025, the SAC Chairman met with the Chief Ministers of Regions and States and made the aforementioned statement at the ceremony where support funds were distributed from the National Disaster Management Fund to assist those displaced due to violent incidents.
It is reported that support will be provided monthly from January to December 2025.
Furthermore, the Chairman urged the Chief Ministers of Regions and States to work towards ensuring the stability and peace of the territories under their responsibility.
The SAC Chair stated that, “Due to the current situation in the country, we have extended the term of emergency period for an additional six months. During this six-month period, efforts will be focused on maintaining stability and peace. The Chief Ministers of Regions and States should also work towards ensuring stability and peace in their respective territories, as well as promoting the development of social and economic life.”
Regarding security, he highlighted that no country in the world can achieve 100 percent security, and that crimes and security breaches occur in every country.
The Chair of the SAC stated, “Every citizen has the responsibility to protect the disintegration of the Union, prevent the disintegration of national solidarity, and ensure the perpetuation of sovereignty. To fulfill these responsibilities, they are being trained in military skills and are subject to the People Military Service Law, which enables them to serve in the defense of the nation.”
