Russian PM affirms Myanmar as key ally in Asia-Pacific region

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Vladimirovich Mishustin affirmed that Myanmar is a key ally of Russia in the Asia-Pacific region. He made this statement during a meeting with Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Chairman of the State Administration Council and Prime Minister of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, who is on a state-level goodwill visit to Russia. The meeting took place at the Russian White House on March 4.
At the meeting, the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation welcomed the Chairman of the SAC, expressing his great pride in the visit to his country, noting that Myanmar is a key ally of Russia in the Asia-Pacific region, and that the visit will further enhance the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
Afterwards, the SAC, expressed his pleasure at the meeting, noting that the diplomatic relations between the two countries have exceeded 77 years, and that the friendship and cooperation between the two countries are developing well. He also expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome extended to him and his delegation team.
Then, they exchanged views on issues related to enhancing friendship and cooperation between the two countries, issues related to enhancing cooperation in the trade, industry, manufacturing, agriculture and investment sectors, cooperation in space and satellite technology, promoting mutual tourism between the two countries, inviting Russian investment to Myanmar, signing memorandums of understanding between the two countries, and mutual visits of high-level government officials between the two countries.
The meeting was attended by the SAC Chairman, the Joint Secretary of the SAC, General Ye Win Oo, Council members General Nyo Saw, General Moe Aung, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister of Foreign Affairs U Than Swe, Union ministers and delegation members, Myanmar Ambassador to Russia U Thit Lin Ohn, Myanmar Military Attaché to Russia (Army, Navy, Air) Brigadier General Moe Kyaw and officials, along with the Prime Minister of the Russian Government, ministers and officials from the Russian Government. –
