The Myanmar Insurance Association (MIA) has announced that it will provide earthquake insurance to those affected by the earthquake that struck on March 28.
The earthquake that struck on March 28 at 12:51 pm Myanmar time was a mega earthquake that occurs once every hundred years.
The magnitude of the Bago earthquake, which was recorded in history as a strong earthquake in 1930, was 7.3 on the Richter scale, while the magnitude of the current earthquake is 7.7 on the Richter scale.
The statement said that it is with great sadness for the loss of life, physical injuries, loss of property, and displacement caused by such a severe earthquake.
It has been announced that the member insurance companies of the MIA are working to promptly process compensation in accordance with the earthquake risk insurance coverage for the losses and damages caused by the earthquake.
To assist insurance companies in their efforts to reach out, insurance holders are also urged to contact their respective insurance companies if possible.
