World leaders express deep sorrow over Myanmar’s devastating earthquake

A catastrophic earthquake measuring 7.7 magnitude on the Richter scale struck central Myanmar on March 28, leaving behind a trail of destruction, loss, and heartbreak. As the nation grapples with this disaster, leaders from China, Cambodia, Brunei, and Nicaragua have extended their deepest condolences and pledged support to help Myanmar recover.
The devastating earthquake has claimed numerous lives, left many injured, and reduced homes and infrastructure to rubble. In response to this tragedy, several world leaders have expressed their condolences and solidarity with Myanmar. Chinese President Xi Jinping, Chinese Premier Li Qiang, Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni, Cambodian Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet, Brunei's Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega Saavedra, and Nicaraguan Vice President Rosario Murillo have all reached out to Myanmar's State Administration Council Chairman and Prime Minister, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, with messages of sympathy. Additionally, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, Nepalese Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Thai Prime Minister Paetongtam Shinawatra, Chief Advisor of the Government of Bangladesh Muhammad Yunus, Chief Executive of Macau Special Administrative Region Sam Hou Fai, and General Secretary of Sri Lanka Aparapura Mah Sangha Sabh Most Venerable Balapitiye Siriseewali Nayake They have also sent messages of condolences to Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.
