An official from Aung Pan Commodity Trading told The Statesman that private entrepreneurs are planning to develop a digital platform that will allow local products to be traded nationwide.
He said that the initial work is currently underway to launch the platform, and that the platform will act as an intermediary.
“From now on, we are still in the establishment phase. How we will do it is simple. In every state and region, in every town and village, there will be villagers, and local people who are connected with us. Then we will send our goods to them. They will also distribute their goods to us. And we have created a way to make transactions without having to see each other. For example, if you join this group, this platform, you will buy and sell to each other,” said an official from Aung Pan Commodity Trading.
He said that since the business is based on local products, trading centers will also be built in townships and rural areas.
“It will be nationwide. Later, if you buy it normally, the seller will have to send his goods to our nearest center. From there, we will deliver it to the person who receives it. We will also take responsibility for transportation. At present, due to the local situation, it is not possible to build it nationwide. The amount of capital required is also limited. Now, we are building a digital infrastructure that can be done to the extent possible under the current situation,” he said.
He said that, once upgraded in stages, the process will be rolled out nationwide by 2030. By 2035, goods will be delivered to sellers and buyers in a short time.
“Our target is to achieve nationwide coverage by 2030. And by 2035, we want to be able to deliver anywhere in Myanmar within 72 hours of ordering. That’s how it works. Everything starts with a small dream. People wonder if it’s possible and are we lying? When it’s all there, they’ll see it,” he said. –
