Preparations underway for parliamentary sessions in March, power transfer in April

In order to ensure a smooth transition of governance in accordance with the constitution, detailed preparations are being made from the national level to the regional and state levels to convene parliamentary sessions in March, form a new government and hand over responsibilities in early April.
“Now that the election has been successfully held, preparations are underway for the assemblies to convene and hold sessions in March. The Union Government and the regions and states are preparing in their respective areas. In early April, a new president will be elected, a new government will be formed, and the responsibility of the state will be handed over,” said Vice Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Vice Senior General Soe Win, in a speech to officers, soldiers, families, and instructors in the Ba Htoo Military Region on February 25.
The National Defense and Security Council has announced that the third parliamentary sessions will begin on March 16.
In accordance with the provisions of Section 3 of the Pyithu Hluttaw Rules, the Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw will convene the first regular session of the third Pyithu Hluttaw to begin at 10 am on March 16 in Nay Pyi Taw.
The Pyithu Hluttaw Office has issued a statement asking representatives to report no earlier than March 10 and no later than March 11.
In addition, it was reported that the first regular session of the third Amyotha Hluttaw will be convened in Nay Pyi Taw on March 18.
The Amyotha Hluttaw Office has issued a notice to members of the Amyotha Hluttaw to report to the Amyotha Hluttaw Affairs buliding (I-19) in Nay Pyi Taw no earlier than March 12 and no later than March 13, regardless of whether they have received an invitation to attend the meeting.
Similarly, the first regular sessions of the third Region or State Hluttaws will be convened in each relevant Region or State Hluttaw on March 20.
The relevant authorities have issued a notice to the relevant representatives to report whether or not they have received an invitation to make necessary preparations for the meeting, no earlier than March 14 and no later than March 15.
With the formation of a new government in early April, the aim of the State Security and Peace Commission is to successfully end the transition period by systematically transferring all state responsibilities.
