Govt makes efforts for returning non-terror exiles; 205 PDFs return legal folds up to June 29

No terror-committed exiles are invited by the Myanmar government during the 17th press conference held in Naypyidaw yesterday (July 1).

Major General Zaw Min Tun told during the ‘Q & A’ session that there are such candidates of the NLD who fled without knowing anything deep down and now take shelter in borderline areas but no advantage they receive from the anti-government groups. It’s been learned that they are in the hardship of living there now. Those exploited persons are also invited by the government to come back.

“There are some candidates of the NLD who run for the election first time in 2020. They are young and not public figures. They fled and now taking shelters at the borderline. However, they do not attain social recognition from their superiors. We receive reports and we are informed that they are in the hardship of living there. Although the government invitation titles for ‘CDM students, teachers and youths’, we would like to inform that they are also included in this invitation,” Major General Zaw Min Tun said.

Youths who underwent armed-resistance courses and joined PDF returning legal fold count 205 in total across the country up to June 29 from June 6, according to Major General Zaw Min Tun, the Information Team leader of the State Administration Council (SAC).

“We are welcoming the CDM students, teachers, and youths who went the wrong way by opening centers to accept their return. This is the figure returning from June 6, 2022, to June 29, 2022, returning legal folds of the PDFs (local) from states and regions. In this figure, there are 156 males, 49 females with a total of 205 have come into legal fold,” Major General Zaw Min Tun said.

He urged youths who joined the PDF to come back while the government is inviting their return and also the neighboring country has pledged to assist the process, telling wish they recognized that they are being played. Stakeholders should cooperate encouraging them to return on the right path.
