Blasts at Insein Prison kill at least eight, injuring many

Two serial explosions blasted at Yangon’s Insein Prison this morning (October 19). At least eight including five visitors to the inmates died in the incident with many others injured.
The incident occurred at an estimated 10 am at the prison gate where packages for the inmates are received; a source close to the security forces confirmed the NP News.
Eight including three staff from the Myanmar Prisons Department and five women who visit the inmates died in the blast.
Many others were injured in the incident, the source told.
No immediate claim of responsibility for the blasts has been released yet.
Authorities, on the other hand, have not yet released any statement with regard to this serial blasts.
Update:
Eight died at the scene; a total of 18 (ten women and eight men) were injured from the flying debris of bombs; the State Administration Council released a press statement.
Another bomb that hasn’t yet exploded was also seized from a parcel and counter-terrorism team deactivated it.
